Engaging Reluctant Writers
Each writing task is carefully planned, with boosting confidence in writing at its heart. Reluctant writers feel supported by the 'pressure-free' set up: students can upload a written piece each session, pick which pieces to submit or simply use the live lessons to inform and engage.
The twice-monthly lessons are thematic and fun - aimed to motivate learning and enthuse your child's writing.
Writing Club is dyslexia-friendly.
Structure Their Imaginaton
One of the key benefits of Writing Club is structuring a student's imagination. Many learners enjoy the experience of free writing, but need support in structuring their fantastic ideas.
This is where Writing Club excels: it shows students how to take those ideas and structure them in flowing sentence and paragraphs, with accurate punctuation.
True Flexibility
The recorded sessions provide you with a creative writing tutor to suit your needs. Each recorded lesson can be used at a time to suit your child's schedule that week. This makes life that little bit easier, particularly during busy weeks.
You can choose whether your child completes the follow up written task that week, and if you wish to submit it. All submitted writing is marked with personalised video feedback.
Write Beyond 'Expected'
The tasks vary each time, and so students are exposed to the full range of writing skills and expectations for their age range. I gently challenge and extend their knowledge through modelling new skills and providing examples of how to up-level their writing.
Prepare for Writing Exams
Ideal preparation for any independent school writing exam, Writing clubs prepares students for the full range of text types.
Fiction, non-fiction and poetry are all explored in Writing club, as well as valuable comprehension answer skills.

Each fortnight, a 15-minute recorded lesson guides writers through a specific text type. We explore the full range of text types, to mirror those learnt in the classroom: fiction; non-fiction; poetry; even covering written comprehension answers.
The students are fully supported through each session with visual stimuli, vocabulary and spellings lists as well as scaffolding resources.
Your child is invited to submit their writing each session. Equally, if your child just wants to use the learning and would rather not submit each time, that's fine too! Writing Club is designed to be flexible.
For every writing submissive made, your child will receive speedy and personalised feedback. Feedback is friendly, supportive and easy to understand, whilst guiding them gently to their next steps. Marking is in the form of short videos - particularly effective in engaging young learners.

Dyslexia-friendly Approach
Writing Club is fully accessible for dyslexics. In fact, it encourages dyslexic learners ot take part. Every lesson is scaffolded for build confidence and self esteem in writing.
Font types are always dyslexia-friendly, visual stimuli supports processing skills, and the vocab and success criteria lists help to aid spelling and sentence structure.
Punctuation has a weekly focus, making this - often stressful aspect of writing - manageable.
The 15-minute lessons also suit a dyslexia learner, ensuring each lesson is timely and not overwhelming.
